Meet Toribio T. Natividad, MD

drn 4647

Dr. Natividad grew up in El Paso, Texas and graduated from J.M. Hanks High School.  He completed his undergraduate prerequisites at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and subsequently received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston in 1993.  He returned to El Paso and practiced as a Licensed Physical Therapist for the following  8 years.  Over that duration, his interest in orthopedics continued to grow, leading him to pursue a Masters degree program in Physical Therapy.  Halfway through this Masters degree, he realized that a deeper and more comprehensive knowledge base of medicine and orthopedic surgery was what he desired to fulfill his passion for orthopedics.

In 2001, he returned to UTMB to attend medical school, followed by a 5-year Orthopedic Surgery Residency. Because of Dr. Natividad's passion for excellence, he completed his training with a sub-specialty 1-year Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Dr. Natividad is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine.  He has a special interest and expertise in shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder stabilization, rotator cuff repair, biceps and SLAP disorders, shoulder arthritis and shoulder replacements, knee arthroscopy, knee ligament reconstruction, patella instability, meniscus and cartilage preservation, knee arthritis and knee replacements.

Dr. Natividad currently serves as one of the team physicians for UTEP and Burges High School.  He is actively involved with the student-athletes of virtually all El Paso high schools and gives his time willingly.  He previously served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Las Palmas Medical Center as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Las Palmas Medical Center , Clinical Assistant Professor for Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine and Volunteer Faculty for the UTMB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation.
